Pepi Camerlingo is a principal partner with the firm of Avery Camerlingo Kill, LLC. Since the firm’s inception in November 2000, Ms. Camerlingo has successfully represented hundreds of clients in proceedings involving issues relating to all aspects of family law including dissolution, parentage, and adoption proceedings. Her Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification designation has enhanced client benefits who often need her expertise in forensic financial issues including maintenance, income, valuation and disposition of complex assets including real and personal property and business interests. Ms. Camerlingo has also successfully litigated issues involving maintenance (formerly known as alimony), income, valuation of assets, pension allocation, child support, custody, visitation and termination of parental rights.
As a celebration of her negotiation and litigation skills, Ms. Camerlingo was recognized with the coveted 40 Under 40 Award from the Law Bulletin Publishing Company in 2008. This award is based on an annual survey of Illinois lawyers to determine who they believe are the “up and comers” of law in Illinois. To maintain objectivity, attorneys cannot recommend themselves or attorneys from their law firm. Ms. Camerlingo has also been nominated as an 2009 – 2015 Illinois Leading Lawyer for the last five years and has an AV rating from Martindale-Hubbell which is the highest rating available. There are only a selected number of attorneys who have been granted this rating.
Ms. Camerlingo was also selected as an "Illinois Rising Stars" in 2008 and 2009 in family law which appears in the Chicago Magazine Superlawyer edition. In 2008, she was one of 23 Illinois family law practitioners named to the "Illinois Rising Stars" list. "Illinois Rising Stars" are the top Illinois lawyers chosen by their peers in a survey of more than 55,000 lawyers from across the state.
An active Illinois State Bar Association member, Ms. Camerlingo has served on a number of committees over the last twelve years including the Standing Committee on Bar Services & Activities, the Solo and Small Firm Conference Committee and the General Practice, Solo & Small Firm Section Council. She is currently the Vice Chair of the ISBA Standing Committee on Bar Services and Activities. Ms. Camerlingo is a member of the Woman’s Bar Association and the DuPage County Bar. She is also very active in her community serving on the Local School Council from 2010 -2012 and as treasurer on the Chase Park Advisory Council from 2009 – 2013.
After graduating from the University of Nebraska (B.S. cum laude, 1992) Ms. Camerlingo obtained her law degree from DePaul University School of Law in Chicago, Illinois. She was admitted to the practice of law in 1995 and has concentrated exclusively in the field of family and matrimonial law.
